My commute is short and usually easy as hell.

5-6 minutes by car. 20ish by bike.

But there are freight trains routed through the downtown area that are bad. Sometimes blocking main thoroughfares for and hour or more. It's fucked up.

I've become pretty adept at recognizing the traffic patterns pretty far out and make my move to sneak around well before getting caught in the shit.

Sorry, Rev.

My commute is amazing. 4 miles no traffic unless I leave late and get stuck behind the school bus.

Thanks for listening Rev. You are a hell of a guy!

15 minute walk? That's sweet.

I would love to bike more but the way home is a long slow drag uphill and I'm tired and lazy at the end of the day.

It's not through Waterbury though thankfully......... Don't miss those days. That stretch of 84 is terrible.

My commute is a 6-7 minute bike ride. It is dope.

When it's raining it's a 15-20 minute walk or a 5 minute car2go.

Thanks for asking.

I miss the mta.
2 train to the Bronx for 45 mins and a 10 minute bus ride. It was a long commute, but the people watching was top notch.

My commute is a bike ride to the gas station for cigs.

Then bong rips and work from the kitchen all day. Maybe a load of laundry in the mix. Need to mop today. Might mow the yard too. Finally drying out.

shocking how few people are capable of objectively estimating their commute

Group 1: the martyrs, try to top each other on how long their commute takes, how terrible it is, constantly complaining, etc.

Group 2: the delusional, they clocked what it took them to get to the office on a Sunday morning, and that stuck in their head, they'll quote that number as their actual commute time.

Group 3: i ride my bike! good for you, man. good for you.

Mine is part of my work day and varies daily. I travel from client to client, some days are as little as 20 miles, others are as many as 100+

i'm in the tiny minority of people capable of providing an objective estimate of their commute

16 minutes on average to work, unless snow or construction

longer to get home b/c traffic is heavier

and i'm able to recognize no one cares, like, not at all

I don't own a car. I don't even own a bike, I use the bike share. My bike to work is essentially public transportation. The actual public transportation cannot get me there w any efficiency.

So less "good for me" and more "this is the only way to get there." Dunno that I'd be as eager to do it daily if it was a 30-40 minute ride.

Used to do 55 miles each way when we lived in VT.

If I get hired at this place I have an interview for it will be 20-30 each way but it’s all backroads with no traffic.

Mine sucks. I have to drive to fucking Asheville. It takes about 30 minutes usually. But sometimes it takes two hours to get home because the leaves are changing colors or some shit...
