Our vacation place is 10 minutes from three casinos and we go to them all the time for live music. Wife sits at the blackjack table or video poker sometimes. I haven’t gambled at any of them yet. I like to bet sports.

More like a weekend place than a vacation place.

I loved the casino's when I drank. I had a couple of serious gambling degenerate friends and loved to go with them.

I would not gamble much at all. Just sit and watch and get HAMMERED on free drinks. Casinos are great people watching places when you are drinking free.

Got my dui leaving the casino.

Have intentionally gotten kicked out of them twice. Both times I was with friends that were 12 and 20 hours into consecutive card playing and wouldn't leave. I was done. Couldn't drink anymore.

Both times my friend refused to leave, so I took my shirt off. Stood up on a chair near him and started beating my chest and howling.

It doesn't take long at all for them to pull your ass down and drag you out. I start yelling "I'm with him" and pointing. He pretty much has no choice to leave at this point.

It only took twice for my friend to start taking me seriously when I say it's time to go :)

I haven't been since I quit drinking.

Also I drank more damn alcohol with Tony in the casino's then should be possible. We had mutual gambling friends and loved to go together

The Crystal Bay casino gets some good bands & is cheap to stay at. I didn’t take into account the casinos I saw shows at in Reno/Tahoe, but I never gambled.

I'd have a minimum bet on the pass line with max odds behind it.

Whoa didn't know you left Sac. What prompted the move?

Work. I’m semi temporary up here. Maybe a year or 2. Hopefully longer. It’s pretty sweet.

South/North or West Shore?

Casino is about 10 minutes away. I'll go every so often to play some poker or hit the tables. My brother is a king level (300,000 points per year) and gets free valet + comped rooms. He never uses the perks but I use his.

I'd go more if they had free drinks and/or my wife didn't play slots

Lol, I’m sitting in the crystal bay right now. Boyd Tinsley is playing tonight.

Ha! One time I had to get a room there after braving a blizzard to see JGB & ebded up hanging out with the band for a while. There were maybe 15 people at the previously sold out show, but nobody could get there. At one point on our way down I was hanging out the passenger side window with ski goggles on giving the driver directions because it was so blinding. Cool little place.

Thank you!

Desolation Wilderness is one of my favorite places. Been there a few times.

Casinos are fun though especially when there are shows there. That’s awesome you won $ tonight. I almost never win which is why I don’t go there to play. But I’ve seen so many good shows around the Lake. Merle Saunders sang me Happy Birthday on my 24?th! And I’d love to get to know DW the way you do when you live someplace.
I think I’m missing the mountains since it’s Fall. Feeling jealous. :)

I live less than 10 minutes from a Casino in upstate NY. I never go, on the other hand I love the race track when it's open. I don't do OTB though.

We used to live about 20 minutes from a casino. I went a few times after it opened, but losing money in a matter of seconds isn’t really my thing.

There is one less than a mile from my house. I have been there three times for parties. I have never gambled there

Might be wrong, but as I understand in New Mexico only race tracks can be casinos.
And it must be native American.

In Las Vegas, NV they tell you the odds as a way to entice you - 98.5% vs. 97% for slots
Here, I asked at Zia and no one could tell me.
Makes me wonder if it's 75%.

my parents haven't spent any of their own money in the casino since like 2002.

They've won a Land Rover, too.

My roomies mom won a million dollars at the casino in a slot tournament last year. They're (mom and roomie) are actually on a cruise right now she won from the casino, too.

I live less than 10 minutes from a Casino, and I've been twice. Once right after it opened, and another time late night when an out of town buddy was visiting and we were up.

Haven't considered going back.

that being said, casinos were legalized in MA a couple of years ago, they started building 2 or 3 of them over the past year, probably due to open late 2018 or early 2019. I will def. hit one up just to check it out and gamble a small amount of money.

After that, probably hit it once in awhile.

My friend's husband is in charge of opening the one in/near Springfield.

finished up work a few minutes ago and wanted to to steak and shake (haven't been to the one here yet) and it's in a casino. so, I was gonna hit an ATM, grab a hundo and go play blackjack and get a burger....

then I realized it was Friday... and there's a luke Bryant concert which will congest the entire strip... casinos will be packed...

naaawwww... i'll wait til sunday morning.

Is that Biloxi, cpj?

I feel like playing some roulette sometime soon. It's about 25 minute drive that I make once or twice a year.
But I hate going there with people. Usually go alone just because I want to leave when I want to leave... hate just hanging out at a casino when I've had enough gambling.

yeah, Biloxi.

concert is outside at a casino right on the water... lots of boats, lots of folks out for that. no way.

sunday mornings are my favorite. kind of like hunter Thompson when he hits the casino late.

I, too, prefer going by myself. unless we are specifically going there to trip. but, I guess for most things I like doing it solo and meeting people.

I'd call up a gambler buddy of mine. Get a great meal for free, catch a concert. Maybe play some black jack & slots/draw poker while I'm waiting for him to lose all of his early winnings playing real poker.

Whatever he wins or loses everything gets comped. Guess it helps that his father has high roller status. Free Super Bowl tickets level.

Was a part owner of the Red Sox & Suffolk Downs racetrack...
