What's up Phook?

Lazy Saturday here. Mrs JW69 and I slept in, ran some errands and are now settling in with some beers.

How's everyone doing today?

Came home from tour to my car having a flat tire and something fucked up with the power steering.
Great.
Said fuck it and called AAA to come and tow it to the garage so we'll see how that goes. Hate that car.

Otherwise it's been pretty chill. Made a breakfast sammy, spinning records, some minimal house work... Going out to dinner with my folks tonight who I've only seen twice in the last 6 months.

Lazy Saturday after a fun Friday night. Ran errands, fired up the pellet stove and slipped into sweats and a hoodie. Beer, edible, random tunes and couching.

what up

worked a couple hours in the AM, and right now 5-8.

took the family to go see the "It's Alive!" exhibition, which is culled from Kirk Hammett's personal collection of horror movie memorabilia. it was pretty cool. came home, ate lunch.

can't wait to crack a few beers later.

the kids dug it. it was mostly movie posters, but there were some props, guitars, and staged areas. might make a thread about it if the photos came out OK.

Walked all over NYC today. Had amazingly delicious Ramen for lunch. St. Patrick’s Cathedral for a specific candle offering, wandered The NY Library. Napped.

Heading to eye-talian for dinner and then the Grateful Dead play in the Village.
Stoked.

Purged and cleaned the basement today. Found out that no goodwills or thrift store in RVA will take a TV that is not flat in the back. Had to throw that one in the dumpster.

Listening to some of the 30 days of the dead and continuing the endless packing. I am getting pretty tired of packing!

Basement had water in a small portion of the basement for the third time this month. All during heavy rain. Ripped out 3x4 of drywall to find a thin bit long crack in the concrete wall. Called a concrete company to look at it but no idea what they’ll do especially since it’s getting cold now. I’ve seen the sealers. Hoping that’s an option.

After some afternoon rainy day beers and bud, we had pork chops and scalloped potatoes for dinner. I subsequently took a nap, a shower, and now I'm ready for the evening with a Long Trail Over the handle bars IPA

Cursing cancer right now. So very sad. Was at a funeral for most of the day for the owner of the company I worked at for 18 years. Just so down right now.
Highlight was ALL the people I hadn't seen in years that I got the opportunity to spend a little time with.

Had a medium awesome day.

Still feeling sick but turning a corner.

Took kids to our cofeee shop so they could get a cookie. Then took them to the record store and they each got to get an album. Daughter picked 1989, son picked Thriller.

Chilled at home, turkey burgers for dinner. Spun records all day- kids choices, new Sharon Jones, Elbow, Charlie Brown xmas.

Just biked for an hour and watched Peaky Blinders.
Now gonna shower, make tea and watch Mindhunter.
Then read and bed.

Pretty medium awesome for sure.

I took two 8 year olds to a play and then out for Tapas. It was a ton of fun.

(I am not being sarcastic. They were really well behaved and a little silly.)

We got calamari with squid ink aioli. A tried it and announced that it tasted like ranch. Her friend retorted with "That comes from the squid's butt". I am not sure which one was more embarrassing.

Update on car - tire was patched, power steering fluid was low. Got an oil change. Whole thing cost $62. Not bad. Still hate the car.
Dinner with folks was good. Had scallops.
Came home, ripped some tubes, watched a Shepherd Fairey doc, passed out.
