The past few years Phish has come to Chicago the same weekend as Pitchfork Music Festival. I’m not sure why. Gonna go out on a limb and start a rumor they will be at Northerly or Wrigley those three nights.

7/20-22 - Chicago

Why is 3.0 Phish so bereft of fall tour shows?

That's so funny I had the exact same thought when I saw the Pitchfork announcement. I hope you're right but I feel like they are headed back to Alpine which is supposed to open again after closing for renovations last summer.

Is the thread where we make up rumors to suit our own interests?

I heard it was South Lake Tahoe @ Harvey’s ampatheater > Sacramento @ Golden 1 Center> Uc Davis @ Mondavi center > Berkeley @ The Greek Theater

It’s early this year. Usually we wait until January or late December. It’s still November.

No alpine unless they allow on-site camping.

Hell yeah they could.

I went last year and it seemed everyone was just getting warmed up. If it wasn’t sold out, it was damn sure close. A 3rd night would have been no problem.

Also, it’s such an undertaking to get there. 2 nights goes by too fast.

leave your negative vibes out of this thread. :hand:

20 year anniversary of the famous 7/17/98

15 year anniversary of the "no pupper pullers" incident before night 2.

Old men gathering from parts near and far to reclaim their misspent 20s and 30s. Vanagons would be involved for christ sakes.

They have played both Chicago and Alpine on several summer tours. Though, 2015 does stand out where they chose Alpine over any Chicago dates. I know Alpine is coming back...but, honestly, it’s too late. Wrigley is already dropping night games to host more concerts because of their agreement to have only X amount of night events at the stadium. Northerly can fit a similar amount. Maybe with camping at Alpine, but with an aging fan base, I just see them choosing a spot with more hotels than a place out in the middle of nowhere. I guess we will see what the 2018 Alpine schedule reveals...

2009 doesn't count as it was different legs. 2010 and then 1997. That is it is it I think.

I don't know if "their aging fan base" could.

zero hotels near there. not much glamping.

I’m part of said demographic and I would rage three nights.

Then I’d sleep for three days.

I don't think they've ever sold out 2 nights there, at least not since 1.0. I mean that place is massive compared to other "amphitheatres". I just don't see them adding a third night, which would have to be a school night (thurs or sun)? Just doesn't seem feasible regardless of the age of their fan base.

Its one of the biggest tourist/music fan destinations in the country as a shed

If anything, adding a third night would incline more ppl to do it

if they took a page from the wsp red rocks run and did a fri/sat night, then sunday 2pm start I'd be in favor of that.

I bet I would feel worse than after my ironman with a 3 day phish run. seriously. even after coz'ing it on nights 1 and 2.

A night off of partying (or at least taking it slower) is always necessary for me on a 3 night run. Usually n2.
