Having time to shred during the week makes dodging gapers on the weekend not so bad.

That thread is an embarrassment. The fact that you spend 80% more of your time here than I do and did not know that JW was a skier is proof that you are not fit to start a shred thread.

like.
Stowe is now included in my season pass. Would love to check it out someday. Itching to go on a destination ski trip this year but we are booked out most weekends until March. Would love to do a spring trip to Tahoe but I don't think it is in the cards.

I'll post in all skiing/Snowboarding related threads. I'm in a boot and might not be able to ski next weeked in Vermont. I'm not happy.

Denise Stowe is the bomb. It is a kick ass eastern mountain, that has legit side and back country. The town is a quintessential New England Town. And the breweries... There are so many breweries in Northern Vermont that are killing it right now.

Stowe is where I'm supposed to ski next Saturday. Sugarbush on Sunday. Sugarbush is really good mountain too. The only issue with making the East a destination trip is you can get shitty rain in the winter. Its always been this way, not necessarily a climate change debate. It makes scheduling a destination trip a gamble. That being said Snow making and grooming are a major part of the game in the east and you will at least be able to ski/ride something.

Been out backcountry 4 times.
Had 5 feet of snow a couple of weeks ago and the hill was supposed to open 2 weeks early which hasn't happened in 8 or so years but we got warm weather and it condensed a ton.
Looks like I'll have to wait until next Friday for a chair.

I've been on a 6 person lift with heated seats and a bubble. I certainly don't need it, but it is kinda nice :o

There's not too many places in the west that i haven't made some turns in.

Couple places in idaho I need to check out, but I've been to every area in Utah, Colorado, New (and improved) Mexico, Wyoming, and Nevada.

Got a really nice cold smoke day at Maverick and ended up skiing back to the chalet subaru.

Day 2.
It was 14 degrees out & snowing. We do not have heated seats or covers on our lifts.
Not much open because they are preparing for Dew Tour and parts of what are opened were closed for the blind skiier event going on.
Anytime spent on the hill is better than spending time in the office.

I never was a skier. I’ve only been a handful of times. Your posts make me want to ski. I love how you love it. I feel your joy when you talk about it.
I hope I get hooked when I go again in January.

^ have fun!

The best way to describe how I feel when out on my snowboard is similar to the feeling I get when the lights go down at Phish. A powder day is like a huge bust out.

Day 4 today & it was my first powder day of the season. Not a big dump but still fun.

I love skiing nothing like pushing off the top and heading down the mountain. Doesn't matter how big or how steep, its just so exhilarating. I've got tunes cranked in my ear, and usually a smile in between.

Do you rock tunes in both ears? I ride w/ a bud in my right ear so I can hear other people in my left.
I bought these for my husband for Christmas:

I should probably say I don't have them cranked. I can still here people around me, and if I need to I will turn down the tunes on the chair lift.

I just use regular ear buds, but those look nice. I'll be curious to hear his/your feedback on them.

Day 6.
Rode with a phooker. Gorgeous Colorado blue bird sky day.

It was my first time out since Christmas. On Christmas is was snowing like crazy and there was no one there. Knee high powder made keeping your momentum tough at times but it was so fun!

Today was his first day using them and he said they are great. He mentioned a walkie talkie function so I had them he could talk to me by clicking on his helmet? IDK. I am ok w/ my one ear bud in.

We need snow so bad but today we found a run that no one was on because you had to go thru some sparsely covered stuff but was sick once you got thru the sketch. We had 7 runs to ourselves & lift lines were less than 5 minutes. Ripping fast & launching off rollers while Phish is cranked to 11= 8-)

Breck 80% of the time but our pass is good for unlimited at Keystone & A Basin and 10 days at Vail or Beaver Creek and other Vail Resorts owned mountains all over.

I like being able to crush first or last chair on the weekends and still getting adulting done like errands, chores & watching sports.

Powder Day. Rode freshies from 8:40-11.

We found a spot a rope had been dropped and lapped a section of trees with 8 inches of untouched tracks. The rope was back up on our final run. D’oh!

Vail reported 9 inches. I wanted to go to there but didn’t want to commit a whole day since this is my last weekend home until February.

Two powder days in a row.
Started late yesterday and it was puking snow.
Got out early today and spun laps in the Orr Bucket @ Breck and lots of tree runs in peak 6. Love jamming tunes & whipping thru the tight trees like I am on a rollercoaster.

Got up early and hit up Winter Park this morning. Love a bluebird powder day.

Speaking of helmet earbuds, check these out...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013HSXKQ2/

I had the wired Chips, but hated having the cord (I've had it ripped out going through trees). I wanted to get the wireless/bluetooth Chips, but didn't want to spend that much. Found these for $49, and they've worked well my 5 days out so far this season.

Thanks for sharing.
I am now in the market for a pair of headphones I can put in my helmet. My one ear bud system was driving me insane this weekend.

I was incorrect in my post above regarding the Chips. I did get him the wireless Chips 2.0. He loves them. I did get them with a biscount so I did not pay full price.

Killington is great! I had an awesome 2 days there 2/2 & 2/3.

Place will be a zoo this weekend due to Presidents day. Then again, all ski areas are zoos this weekend!
