It doesn’t mean anything specific and you sound like an asshole when you use it disparagingly

hipsters are rich kids who pretend to be poor and also make themselves purposely ugly
i'm a poor kid who pretends to be middle class so i can see how some might be mistaken

Hipsters in Athens were poor-ish service industry townies 10-15 years ago. The definition has changed, I guess.

Hipsters dress like they are homeless people - can't be too hard to stretch it.

You need to have a useless college degree before you can fully become a hipster.

P sure most of the hipsters from 2009 are now in their late twenties or early thirties, have decent jobs, and hang out at breweries.

Who are the hipsters of the 20teens?

Pooping on the floor in the middle of the night after drinking Boxer beer and whiskey definitely is.

i dont even know what a hipster is. ive mostly seen people use it to project their insecurities on other people who tend to outwardly express themselves through fashion. 2009 it was if you had a beard, wore plaid, and liked good food. Today, I have no idea since it seems "hipster culture" (whatever the fuck that is) is everywhere. If theres a cool new resturant, people liek you would say it's "hipster" if it's a new band that doesnt sound like widespread panic it must be "hipster". If there's a meal that isn't only just meat then it must be "hipster" unless it's bacon because bacon is "hipster". I have no idea.

Whenever I read someone use the word hipster as a deragorty term, I always envision them as an overweight gen-xer who is in a bad marriage and yearns for their youth but has a little too much early onset arthritis to get off their ass and better themselves.

Being a hipster is less about fashion and more about attitude. A shitty fashion sense is just a small subset of being a hipster.

You're right, you definitely don't know what a hipster is.

So now you can no longer enjoy the things you once did because they've been claimed by hipsters? Why? Because you're afraid someone will think you're a hipster? Who cares?

Yeah it's not gonna stop my flow. Nothing about me says hipster, nor would I give a shit if some hipster thinks I'm on his team.

Just want to say how much I occasionally enjoy drinking a Budweiser/Coors and how they both taste the same as PBR and Old Milwaukee. And I wear a lot of fucking plaid.

Anyway . . . millenial is a far better trigger word these days. I love using that word so much more than hipster.
