Winter Olympics are the best Olympics for me. The skiing, Snowboarding, Luge, Bobsled. I love all of those speed events!

If you live in the US, opening ceremonies took place this morning due to the 14 hour time difference, but NBC will air them during prime time tonight at 8pm

winter olympics are the best

i thought tonight (friday) was the ceremony. but i watched figure skating and moguls last night.

first. the announcers for figure skating are soooo dramatic and smarmy about the performances. it's funny.

the fucking bump skiers are just flat crazy. christ.

Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir are great commentators. Reason to tune into figure skating alone right there.

Yeah they have a schedual for events and you can set alerts when they start. Watch replays too. Also no cable provide info needed for cord cutters like myself.

I LOVE THE OLYMPICS!!!

Winter and Summer, so excited. Attending is on my bucket list.

I watched a some super g skiing last night and a buncha figure skating (thanks, Wife).

It was great. The german figure skating duo was awesome.

Really excited to see the mass start speed skating, shit looks intense.

Same. I remember looking at prices for Atlanta and was too young and poor to make it happen. My brother was at Salt Lake.

you know what's an underrated event - the biathlon.

powerful cross country skiing and then steadying yourself to shoot, 4 times. amazing.

It seems likely that LA will get a summer games soon and I will go to that, but I'd rather travel to some cool place. But travelling to some cool place will be hella expensive and LA is much more manageable.

yes I was talking to someone at work about this yesterday. If you have a bad shooting effort, you have to do the penalty laps, too. I've never tried to shoot a gun after basically sprinting on cross country skis. I imagine its rather hard to be precise.

would watch Lipinski and Weir announce other sports. Imagine them in the booth with Joe Buck for the World Series? Tell me you wouldn't watch that.

HEY TREEF
can you do someging about the thread title?
My suggestions
“Winter Olympics *The OFFICIAL Thread*”
Or
“THE OFFICIAL THREAD OF THE WINTER OLYMPICS”
You might also try throwing the year in there:
“The Official Thread of the 2018 WINTER OLYMPICS”

It’s ultimately your call but we are going to have to look at it for two weeks
So.

I'm already sick of "the olympic athletes from russia". Too much of a mouthful. Let's just go with "Russia" . We know who they are damnit. You're not fooling anyone.
