I can't help but hear Peyton Hooten's mother through the voice of Frances McDormand.

I was thinking of my own last time at Lakewood (2012)...

He did mention something about the shows they used to play there several years ago though..

His buddies are fucking dicks for bailing though. That's some weak ass shit right there.

That was great. Sad end to the story though. Trey clearly has not googled his name.

That is a bizarre twist to that story. Very sad. Fuck bad drugs. And I feel sorry for the people who do them.

Thanks. Nick is coming and we're going together. He hooked me up with a ticket. Love phishhook.

Peyton's story after this one is really sad, it looks like the last update on the fundraiser was 20 months ago. I wonder where he is now. Phans are donating, I wonder if his mother has seen the story Trey told now?

Well, that wasn't hard to find:

Carol Walters Hooten wrote:
Hey this is Mrs Hooten...Peyton’s mom. Thank you so much for sharing this....it made my heart glad ❤️. Trey did a wonderful job telling the story but most don’t know the story of what a great man he is. Remember this is over 29 years ago when there are no cell phones or no google to check out the band. He and some friends wanted to go with an adult and we let him go. Any mom can realize the panic when I received the call that he was separated from his friends (I was in Birmingham and he was in Atlanta). So I started to pray and the thought cane to my mind to call directory assistance and they gave me a number so I call and someone answered the phone...I tell him what’s going on and he says I have a daughter her sleeping and I understand ...I will find him. I know that God let Trey answer that phone that night and he was the one that He choose because He knew Trey would find him. You know the rest of the story but I am forever grateful to Trey!!! Thank you so much for posting!!

What site was that on if you don’t mind me asking

I just found the post and thank you for what you said even before me telling you what happened. He story is untrue...I’m not sure where she found her information but people need to get the right information before they decide to crucify someone. He was in prison 3 years not 10 and not for rape but for keep being in front of a judge several times for drugs. She needs to read some of the post of people that knew him and knew of the charge....they never mentioned that because they know the story. So sad to see how people act without knowing the facts

I read one comment that said he wasn't, but his mother hasn't eluded to that in anything I have read.

also, story is a testament to trey being a good guy.

picked up the phone, got the moms number, saved the kid, called the mom back.

he had no obligation and could have ignored all of that, but he didnt.

lots of past tense
not saying that's a definitive smoking gun or anything, but saying 'knew' in reference to your own offspring is...i dunno

I can't find one either, no news is good news? But I do know of a man who died last year and there is no obit for him either... Sometimes it's just too painful when addiction or suicide is involved.

Was anyone able to figure out which show this was? It has to be late 1990s, since it was before cell phones were widely used.

Also, I like how Trey seems to express an affinity for Alpharetta over Lakewood due to Lakewood being in a sketchy area.

It’s pretty great that the Phish community stepped up and started making donations once this story spread:

At this point, Phish has been playing sheds for what, 8-10 years now? And it goes to show you how well run and professional the organization has been for a long time.

It won’t always go smoothly all the time, but the band has done a great job over the years, especially since Red Rocks.

Yeah, it's kinda terrifying that all they need to know is a guy's name and they can dispatch a golf cart army to zero in on the suspect.

Of course, Trey did drop clues to their deep state-like capabilities in Kung...

We can stage a runaway golf cart marathon!
