has anyone ordered a 4K box?

I saw that the Olympics were being broadcasted in 4K and went looking for a way to watch in UHD

I found out I was eligible for a 4K box upgrade and placed my order..... should be here this week

at first I had difficulty finding a way to get my hands on one of the new boxes, but finally was able to chat with an agent online and ordered the box

here's the link I followed - https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/uhd-4k-faqs

then I clicked - contact us and chose the "chat with an agent" option

anyone with Xfinity and a 4K TV should look into it, here's another link for more info - https://www.xfinity.com/4k

picked up a 65" Samsung 9 Series around Christmas.... got a great deal

unfortunately I haven't watched any 4K content on it yet.... was psyched to see Xfinity offer a 4K box

I figured the other Comcast/Xfinity people here might like to know 4K boxes are available

I have a 4K TV but mostly stream. I don't think my Xfinity internet is fast enough for me to notice a difference.

Thanks for the info. I actually got into a huge rabbit hole trying to get the NBC Sports app on my TV. (Unfortunately not available for Android TV).

Been thru two weeks of this shit. Numerous long phone calls and even a visit from a tech who completely rewired. Now more holes and wiring and all the old holes and wiring is still just hanging off my house. Dude told me I could tear it all down and still not the box I ordered and have been paying for.

Besides the olympics do they offer any other 4K programming? As of now I have been using Netflix to get my 4K.

My TV displays the broadcast resolution..... I was just showing the display resolution in the upper corner... techies would appreciate it

only an idiot would think this was an attempt to display the picture quality

I'm hoping there will be more 4K content to come..... the infrastructure is there to make it happen

as you may or may not know, Comcast has been broadcasting Netflix content through their system for people with a Netflix account for a while now

I'm hearing they might start broadcasting Netflix content in 4K

that's interesting, I didn't know that..... I have a prime membership so I'll check it out

you need decent internet speed to get 4K with these streaming services

the good thing about Comcast broadcasting Netflix content is that you don't need fast internet to watch anything in 4K...... in fact, you really don't need internet at all to watch anything on Netflix through Comcast

Hopefully my box will arrive on Thursday.

I got a 4K TV recently and it really shows the flaws and poor quality of Comcast's signal.

Pretty much anything streamed through Amazon is better quality, especially their 4K content.

There are also a bunch of other apps where you can get 4K content and circumvent Comcast. It took me a while to learn all the features of TV - I never owned a smart TV before.

Blu-ray looks awesome on my TV.

Box is an improvement on most channels.

Where is the 4K Olympics content. Google says it will be broadcast on USA network? Is it in the evenings?

I've been watching prime time Olympics on NBC and my TV is saying it's coming through in 4K..... could be upscaling, but the picture is fantastic

there is a ton of Olympics on demand content in 4K and that looks great as well
