it's crazy that the lake has doubled in size in the last 20 years. Its a very interesting lake to learn about. Fishing is phenomenal.

Only one lake is a two time Olympic host, home to the Miracle on Ice and Eric Heiden's 5 Gold Medals. Lake Placid is king and all these other non-Olympic loser lakes can get fucking bent. Do you believe in miracles? Yes! USA! USA! USA!

Umm, first Gold for men's hockey was in 1960 @ Tahoe.

Lake Coeur d' Alene
Lake Geneva
Grand Lake (9000' elevation)
Glendo in Wyoming.

Look at all these people advocating for their cute touristy lakes that no one thinks about except when reliving a 40 year old sports thing or when phish plays a show there every few years lol.

Rank em how you want but the US Great Lakes and the African Great Lakes are well above your precious little ponds. Lake Baikal is up there too. And if I recall, the Caspian Sea is technically a lake.

That’s not even counting Asian lakes which I know nothing about but I’m sure are deserving of a few top 20 spots.

Placid and Tahoe LOL.

Honestly most of the best lakes I've been to are small ones in the middle of nowhere miles from any people

Kelso Lake in the boundary waters is super nice. Just a couple of short portages and we were the only ones out there. Amazing campsite, one of the best I've ever stayed in.
