So we r at a restaurant. I says to my wife I says, "That's Wilco" when I hear There's A Light come on the speakers. My dad says, "you know who's singing?"
I say "uhh yea. Jeff Tweedy"
He says "Tom Petty"
I laugh and assure him its Jeff Tweedy.
Later I'm realizing my dad not only still thinks he's right and I don't know something so "obvious", but that he also thinks I mean the same person but for some reason call Tom Petty, Jeff Tweedy. And thats WORSE!

How do I remedy this situation? He must know Im not the idiot he thinks I am. An idiot to be sure. Just not THAT idiot.

He has no idea who Wilco or Jeff Tweedy are.

become friends with Jeff Tweedy
invite him to dinner with your dad at that same restaurant
have Jeff play 'There's A Light' right after the appetizer is served
then say to your dad CALL HIM TOM DAD I FUCKING DARE YOU

Love Kum & Go. I mean, it's no Casey's General Store, but it's pretty great.

That makes no sense right? It motivates me to be a hedonist if anything. Cool vid though.

Had a babysitter flake out on me tonight. First non-family to ever watch the kiddos. Wife and I agreed it was getting weird with the folks and that we need someone a bit more transactional. Found this woman through work and the wife was already on edge. 30 minutes late I facebooked her and she said she had been trying to confirm with me through my work email. There are like 5 ways should could have tracked me down. Wtf?

My parents are fairly un-reliable. 5:00 has them showing up at 5:15 and we need to be back at 8 because they scheduled something immediately afterward. They also don't follow directions really well so the kids will be all over the place when we get back.

Her parents are nosey and invasive. So we'll get questions about rashes, why we have certain meds around the house, why the luggage is out ect. Then if the answers aren't good enough it blows up between us and them.

My wife's dad moved from Texas to 1.5 miles away when he found out she was Pregnant. He's super-reliable. He watches Miles Monday and Tuesday every week (and won't take a dime). My mom also loves to watch him, but my wife doesn't like to leave him over there too often, partly because she's got a bad back and can't really pick him up very well (he's 2.5), but mostly because she's a super-religious Trump supporter who won't listen to reason. She's so gravely upset that my sister's knee probably needs surgery, but she's uninsured and can't get the surgery. We told her that if she wanted to help, she could either pay for it herself or vote liberal. She got super offended. We're all saying "Look, if you don't want to help, don't pretend you care." White baby-boomers are the WORST fucking generation.

I am looking for work next year and saw there were some openings at a school in Albania. I googled "living in Albania" and found some threads about expat experiences in Albania.

I am an American, and was living in Albania for eight months as part of a volunteer experience (that ended in July of this year). It is a beautiful country with beautiful people. I want to return very much, but I don't know how. My Albanian guy friend who is interested in me wanted to come to America to be with me, but it is too difficult for him to get an American visa. If I were to return to Albania, can I get employment there? I speak very poor Albanian, despite having lived there for 8 months, because I was in a village near Durres.

The response:

Being an American will help you to find job in Tirana for sure. They are some companies who would love to employe people who speak fluent English.
However find out of your friend is desperate to live in USA or be with you in Albania.
If he is desperate to go to USA then you should understand that he sees you as a bridge to pass to his dream USA.
Then you either should marry him if you feel for him or never come back to Albania.
In Albania there is not such things as being a friend with the opposite sex. We are not yet as open minded as you.
You are either a girlfriend or you are not. Being American is big bonus for him. He would love to have you in his side.
So ask your heart. If he is really nice guy than marry him. Albanian man usually are faithful husbands. If you are fat and ugly then he will leave you after he gets his green card or USA citizenship. If you are beautiful then feel no more. He will never leave you.

Regards

Yeah, I think I could do two years in Albania. I've spent nearly 7 in Asia. I wouldn't mind a change.
