And how many Democrats did they need to purge from voter rolls to achieve that?

You think those people were in a hurry to re-register before the general?

Yes! One of these days, Republicans should take over the American government and really whip things into shape. I'm talking about the whole shebang, executive, legislative, AND judicial branches. #MAGA!

What?

Like I said, Dem leaning voters didn't show up for her. It's not like you see those lost Obama voters voting for Trump.

She got a smaller share of the votes of any Dem candidate in 24 years.

That doesn't explicitly facitor in age 18-35 so I'm going to assume those numbers are skewed instead of taking them at their face value

Hillary recieved more votes than ANY white man EVER.

The real question to me is....how did Donnie manage just enough votes in just the right precincts in just the right states to win?
And he didn't 'excite' his base..

I have my theories...

I mean its no 9/11 was an inside job theory, but

No. You said:
Dem-leaning people simply didn't show up to vote in 2016.

Which isnt true.
She had more votes than anyone ever who isnt named Obama.

The question really should be how did Trump get so many votes in just the right places?

why do you keep putting that "besides obama" thing onto it?

she lost ground to obama and those voters didn't go to trump. She got 48.2% of the vote, a smaller share than any dem candidate has gotten in 24 years.

obama voters didn't show up for her. do you disagree with that statement?

regarding trump getting votes in just the right places.. maybe he knows what a damn swing state is. he actually campaigned in wisconsin during the general. hillary didn't. trump was an awful candidate and frankly ran a terrible campaign. somehow hillary managed to do worse than him though.

%'s arent total votes

Yes...here % slipped by .1

But "Dems didnt support her" is garbage.
If she 'wasnt supported' she wouldn't have ended up with such a large #of votes.
Clearly she was supported. Bigly.

Maybe if dipshits like you and DD had followed your messiah and votes as he requested we wouldn't be in this shit storm.

Merlyn, you're trying to act like Hillary was an abject failure by comparing Obama's numbers to her numbers, but the fact remains that she did better than all of the men other than Obama. The logical conclusion from that is that Obama was a major exception to the norm, not that Hillary was a massive failure.

hillary was a massive failure though. she lost to donald trump.

you can't have her be super liked and popular and run a great campaign and then also have her lose to donald trump.

It was more like the stock market correcting itself after hitting an all time high.

Obama's numbers should probably be thought of like a political bubble.

the 2016 election was a depression all around.

My only point with saying that is that you can't act like Hillary was abnormally bad in terms of the number of votes she got.

She was far from the ideal candidate, had a bunch of missteps, and still managed to get more of the popular vote than Trump. In time we'll likely learn more about how Trump managed to win the electoral votes that he did, though in the long run I'm thinking that the horrible gerrymandering we've got in place across this country likely had a lot to do with it, though that's just conjecture on my part.

As a Democrat in a state that voted for Obama in 2012 and T'rump in 2016 I am a case study in why Hilliary lost.

Democrats like me stayed home.

Now you need to figure out why.

I've been trying to help you all figure it out, but some of you are more vested in the status quo than doing what it takes to win back voters like me.

Apparently the strategy is to reach out to disaffected Repubclans freeing from a T'rump-led Repubclan party and not worry about the disaffected liberals fleeing from the Democratic party. Rightward Together -H>

No, you're insane.

You interpreted me pointing out that T'rump was to the left of Hilliary on many issues as "voting for T'rump". I stayed home like a lot of fucked over Democrats in my state.

Jesus christ shut the fuck up about hillary merlyn. Dumbgator disappears and you jump right in his place.

Here’s a sports metaphor for you. When you look around at your team and see dd and derpgator, you aren’t playing football. Congrats on making it to the special olympics.

The funny thing is that hillbots to believe that it wasn't progressives staying home, but rather that progressives voted for T'rump, that delivered the result.

So rather than apathy, they wrongly believe it was because liberals liked T'rump.

If that were the case, doesn't that represent an even bigger failure than if we just stayed home?

I mean, don't underestimate how bad you hillbots suck, but I don't think you drove as many Democrats to vote for T'rump as you think.
