Kinda like how the weather postponement allowed the cubs to settle down in game 7 of the world series last year?

30 min rain delay vs postponing the game an entire day, nice try though
Did you buy a new Nationals hat for the game tonight?

They look good, but to be fair: Red Sox fans were saying the same thing after 2013. That was expected to be a rebuild year too.

Rizzo was quoted as saying the rain delay saved them so nice try to you!

No. I'm wearing my sox hoodie that I wore last night tho. Has good mojo in it.

Rough start.

I wasn't feeling good going in.

Cubs bats are just struggling.

As much as I’m rooting for the Cubs, I hate to see Wieters eating shit in the 5th. He was always a favorite when he was with the O’s.

Is he getting charged for two errors? One for sure for interference, but that passed ball and the shitty throw to first allowed a run to score.

yeah no doubt the yankees are good now and will be very good in the future. whoever dubbed this a rebuilding year for them did them a huge favor and took a lot of pressure off of them. the yankees version of a "rebuilding" year is vastly different from most other teams rebuilding years. can it really be considered a rebuilding year when you're 2nd in player salaries?

Saw a guy wearing a Yankee Judge shirt today and I had no idea who he was.

Good game right now but the momentum as they say seems to be going to NY.

Dusty Baker? May be gone if he can't get past the cubs.

Any other Managers on the hot seat?

Baker out.

Gardenhire goes to DET.

I bet Alex Cora to BOS.

here's hoping Verlander loses tonight and is sent home to those sweet, succulent Kate Upton boobies.

actually, he wins either way regardless of the game's outcome

I just read this about how the playoffs work in Japan. And you thought are system sucks

Quote:
There are 12 teams in the NPB and they are divided into two leagues -- the Central and the Pacific -- and each league has three teams represented in the playoffs. The second and third seed face off initially, and the winner of that series moves on to face the top-seeded team. Those two face off in what's called the Climax Series.

That's pretty logical so far, but now things get a bit ridiculous.

The higher-seeded team gets every playoff game on their home field, and they begin the Climax Series with a 1-0 advantage. Wait, what? Yes, despite this being a seven-game series, the better team gets a one-game advantage from the beginning.

Now it gets worse.

And despite there being five days in between the end of the Climax Series and the beginning of the Japan Series, games can be called early due to rain. And that just happened.

Wesnesday night in the Central League Climax Series, the top-seeded Hiroshima Carp defeated the Yokohama BayStars 3-0 after just five innings of play. And then...it just freaking ended.

Imagine if the Astros and Dodgers had a 1-0 series advantage in the LCS and played every game at home? Both teams probably would've swept and we'd be on our way to the World Series. Dumb, and yikes. Sorry, Japan.

lol. wut?

I’m a lifelong Yankee fan, but that was a great play by the Astros centerfielder.

Verlander is getting tired. Yankee rally in the 8th?

Such a great game tonight.
