I would say this run makes the case for them going back to writing setlists instead of winging it all the time.

Anyone keeping a running list of songs still available?

There's still 2 shows until I see them, what will they possible have up there sleeve by this weekend, let a lone the last weekend

I think they're going to do something like last night again. Or maybe one night with something like a Tweezerfest where one song weaves in and out throughout a set. I doubt last night is a one off, especially if they're going for 13 unique setlists. No way did this run peak at night 4. There's a better show coming at some point and the clue will be in the evening's donut.

Watch...MSG will have its first ever sellout based on a pastry...lol.

Yes. Yes. 1000 times yes. Indeed I always thought it bizarre that professional musicians playing for 13,000 people did *not* have a plan.

If experience has taught us anything, it's that they were going to try to make the midweek shows special somehow. Last night is the same attitude that brought 11/2/98.

i had a similar thought last night.

and as a result of the show, i'm sure more tickets were bought for the remainder of the run.

Shit...everyone should sign up for the free 30 day Sirius trial and hit up Jam On for the replay at noon.

makes you wonder if they were always planning the jam night to be n4, or if they were nudged a little bit by management to do it to sell more tickets

it amazes me that this statement is close to possible 22 years into me seeing a band and much much longer for them as a band... quite possibly the best all around show i have seen. ridiculous.

Was thinking the same thing last night. No seats behind the stage??! I was shocked when I got in. What a night. So hungover at work today but still have a sh*t eating grin on!

i wouldnt be surprised if i were told they chose the moments to leave the songs in the first set and take them for a walk beforehand - it was uncanny... each of them were just 90 degree turns straight out of the song... and they left the songs in interesting places - unusual places. i doubt thats the case.. it is ridiculous group improvisation that changes on a dime. stupendous.

Tonight's donut

That kinda feels like a midweek show. Not sure if that's good or bad but that donut will not sell as many tickets as another jam filled one.

Was on the floor of the garden last night... complete insanity in the best way possible! I just passed the 25th anniversary of my first show in May of '92 and that is easily one of the best I have ever seen. As soon as they started jamming Sample to start the place just went crazy knowing it was on!

There is no other band on the planet who could pull anything off like what they are doing on this run... enjoy every second of this because this run will go down in the books as one of the greats.

Calling it now final night encore Bug (it doesn't matter) into double Tweezer Reprise to break the no repeat streak, ultimate Phish joke.

Anyone think Lawn Boy turns into a jam vehicle or that was that a one time only deal?

So there were no seats behind the stage last night? did they not sell any? If they did sell those seats, where did all of the people go who had tickets there? Was this show That undersold?

i believe they shut those sections down during the mid-week shows, knowing they would probably undersell anyways

And don't have the back doors open for entrance... everyone entered in 7th last night (ga floor excluded)

And some of the shows are grossly undersold? Isn't it odd that they would webcast them? Wouldn't they want to drive more physical traffic to the venue?

They probably had an idea weeks back that most of last nights tickets were already sold by that point, that they wouldn't be selling many more than what they already did. A webcast would be revenue they wouldn't normally have had.

10-15k people purchasing a stream is worth more than a few hundred additional tickets being sold had they not webcast it.

There have to be VERY few people out there that could realistically attend last night but chose not to because of a webcast possibility.

One of the best phish shows I have ever seen, last night was #146. Up there with 2/28/03 Nassau, 7/29/03 Star Lake, 8/31/12 Dick's (FYF). Damn, we're lucky.

I agree! I'm in shock. Tix for tonight purchased.

So far we've only missed Sunday, so we've seen 3 shows, and this run has been my favorite so far since Dick's 2012. Scary it's so good and only the beginning.

The "really big secret" feeling that I generally have about Phish is magnified x1000 this morning. Like, this is going down every night 10 blocks from where I am (at work) in midtown, and all you suits are snoozin'.

Look, don't put your marriage at risk. But if you can, get to a show. Any one you can make. Move mountains.

Holy shit, this Lawn Boy...

One show better than no shows! I wish I were doing all of them, but life got in the way of that. I've done the first 4 and have 4 to go, but fuck that, fuck numbers they don't matter. just trying to appreciate the moment while I'm in it
