Nancy has been taking liberties with the set lists the whole run.

Interesting choice of encore for Jerry's bday.

Today probably holds more significance to the fan base than it does to the band

Oh no doubt.

I'm sure they're aware though I'm not trying to over estimate it.

I just found it interesting whether there was any intent or not.

Had a lot of fun. Thought the second set had big jams, deep thick and psychedelic at times coming from someone on a clean head. They continue to have fun and dig in. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Yep, my dad liked it better than the American national anthem. Still pisses my mom off to this day, literally.

I totally agree but if you could have heard how my parents argued back and forth about this subject it would drive you insane. Especially my mother. She was born to argue, she's not happy unless she's arguing and making someone else unhappy.

Set 2 is going to amaze some people on relistens

Certainly agree. My response during and after to friends was that the 2nd set was our kind of set. Just some gooey phish going on throughout. It was thick and dark and on point for my liking. As always it was fun to watch them just create one big ball of energy after the other and move it around like they can only do. Piper got to places that I felt I had been waiting to hear in that venue since 98. I know there have probably been others that have impressed at MSG since, but as for representing that song for BD they brought it. Kind of feel that anything they are touching is pretty much above average and that is the vibe in the room for sure. There is an obvious level of comfort that both is shown in that they can just go out and do what they do best laying back into any song combined with a confidence that I haven't seen in a long ass time. They own the shit out of the Garden right now and this is going on every night they hit the stage. Even when they are in my backyard I sit shows out these days but as only they can do they have me looking to come back every night for more. Just really really thankful to have the option to see them raising the bar at this stage in their game. It's pretty damn astonishing to be honest, I am about the biggest believer in this band as they come but if you told me during summer 2004 we would be having this going I would have told you are straight up crazy.
