That's not true at all. I just looked at summer 2015, and it's basically the same pattern of dates. Maybe an extra day off here or there when there's a long travel in between. 3-4 night runs are pretty common. One or two during the week.

I don't think this is really any different than any other summer, other than they get to set up camp in one spot, which should make it easier.

My point is more about them delivering such high energy and awesome jams every night-- that kinda thing can be very mentally exhausting and they've been going all out in this run. I don't recall any stretch of shows in 3.0 that they've done so.

I guess.

I am not sure how you quantify creative energy. I don't know if playing more jams makes them more creatively drained than a regular show where they jam 15% less.

honestly i'm shocked they made it this far into the run without some hiccups. its totally acceptable in my book too. i think this weekend is gonna be off the hook actually.

I wasnt saying they shouldnt be tired. They have evry right to be.

The other part of this is they are having to play more songs...(not 3 possums in 6 shows) & I think the crowd is getting tired and not returning the energy the way they did earlier in the run.

Thats why I think they need high energy set openers...juice the crowd a bit

I've seen a lot of bad 3.0 shows...I've also seen 8 of the last 10 shows they've played....and last night was great. The band was not tired. The crowd was very into it.

Did I mention the food was 1/2 price from 6:30 - 7:30? That was nice.

Half price food?

Is that something that's been happening all run?

That might change my tactics Sat and Sun.

I might go in early enough to get a donut.

That was the only time I noticed it so far this run.....pretty cool. They had people holding signs in front of the entrances advertising it.

They did half price food for one of the other shows too.

Sirius jam on is broadcasting the Sunday show live.

Anyone else thinking the no repeats ends after night 12? Like night 13 will be leftover doughnut night and they'll repeat some crowd-pleasers from earlier in the run. As Jiboo pointed out, the list of songs is starting to get thin.

They've got more than enough songs left to fill three more days of shows. They may end up doing repeats but it won't be out of necessity.

More likely they'll turn songs that normally aren't jam vehicles into jam vehicles to stretch out what's left.

They could do Quadrophonic Toppling for like 40 minutes if they feel like it and it could be fucking awesome.

They've got plenty of songs.

Just listened to the Maze. While certainly not an all timer, the peak made me smile sitting here at my desk on a shitty day of work.

I do think we will see more residency and fewer or no traditional tours. You come to us now, not the other way around.

Yep. Me too. I just hope they aren't in places like MSG or San Francisco etc. The shows on the Coasts are pretty much impossible for me to make anymore. The last shows I saw on either Coast was Gorge '99 and BC. I don't count Vegas as west coast shows...but I haven't been there either since '04. I'm not going back to Vegas until they play the T&M again. I fully understand the T&M probably ain't in the cards for them anymore though.

I think they return to the regular 3.0 touring model next year. 3 night stands at destination places (dicks, gorge, chi, nyc, maybe atl)

I can see this as being an annual MSG thing. New Years will be somewhere else and then a two plus week stand at the Garden. Maybe expand it to 15 night run.

This is the type of stuff the Dead wanted to do at one point. Few shows here and there and a home base for a majority of shows.

Was at the four nights at Red Rocks in '96. I told my buddy on the way to Alpine Valley that I could almost move to Colorado just to be near that venue.

13 night Red Rocks run would kill me lol. Would sure be fun to pick and choose 3-4 nights though.

I don't know if it immediately affects their touring model, but I think this is definitely where we're headed. This residency has been wildly successful and easily the most exciting, consistent Phish of 3.0. You have to think with the ease of no travel for them, they're going to try to replicate this somehow in the near future.

Absolutely. T&M was a pain to get to.

Charleston will be on regular rotation too. People can stay on the beach or downtown.

Would like to see them back at either Blossom or Pine Knob. Ideally MI, since we're due and they played OH this last run.

That's a bummer that you literally can't find a weekend once a year to hit a coastal city but where would you expect this to happen besides a major coast city?

I mean besides Chicago, the options are lol. No one is going to Bakers Dozen Cincinnati...

And super lol about refusing to go to MGM in vegas. It's perfectly located and a decent arena. Are you banned from casino properties or something cuz I can't figure that one out.
